Cookie Jar

A cookie jar has been a kitchen staple in many households for years. What kind of cookie jar do you have?

When you were a kid, did your mom keep cookies in a cookie jar? If so, what kind of cookies did you hope to find in it? Chocolate chip? Peanut butter? Snickerdoodles? Yum!

Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar?

Remember that childhood rhyme? Did we ever really find out who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? And who steals it anyway? If it's in the cookie jar, it's meant to be eaten right? You could always blame in on Cookie Monster. No cookie is safe around him. His mom probably had far more than one cookie jar. She might have even had one in his likeness. Have you seen those?

There are a multitude of cookie jars out there. some look like houses, some look like famous t.v. or cartoon characters (like Cookie Monster!) and some are just accessories to match certain sets of dishes. There's even a Pillsbury Doughboy cookie jar that giggles when you take the Doughboy's head off to get a cookie out. Now that's a fun cookie jar!

Some cookie jars are clear. That way, you know when you're about to run out of cookies and need to make more. And these days making cookies is easier than ever. There are so many refrigerated tubes of cookie dough, frozen cookie dough and refrigerated cookie dough bars that making freshly baked cookies isn't nearly as time-consuming. However, you don't get the satisfaction you get when you know you made the cookies yourself. They aren't as economical either. Still, they work great when you want fresh-baked cookies in a hurry. They're better than store-bought and they save time and mess. And they fill the cookie jar quite nicely.
