German Chocolate

German chocolate makes for a great cake- try a spin on the traditional German chocolate cake with bananas.

German Chocolate

German chocolate cake, we are sorry to report, is not actually a German tradition or a German invention at all. The name for German chocolate cake actually comes from the name of a man who developed some cooking chocolate for the Baker company and hence the name we all are familiar with, Baker's German Chocolate. Most people are surprised to find out that the cake they have enjoyed all their life is not really from Germany, but a very American invention! At least you can still enjoy the real deal from Germany with a box of German chocolates!
