	<description>
Chocolate chips in a pie?
That's right folks, there is fabulous pie that has chocolate chips too. We found one of the best recipes to use your chocolate chips in. It's a favorite for Kentucky races and hence its name, The Kentucky Chocolate Pie. Why not? This traditional pie is a great alternative for most of us who only use chocolate chips in cookies and want to see what else they can do. The ingredients in this chocolate chip pie give the pie a very unique and intriguing flavor that will tempt even your most finicky guest. And the best part might just be that it's quite easy to make.

This is what you'll need:

 1 cup sugar
 1/2 cup butter (melted)
 1 cup light corn syrup
 4 eggs
 2 tablespoons bourbon
 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
 1 cup pecans (chopped)
 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
 1 9-inch pie shell (unbaked)

And here's how it's done:

Combine the sugar, corn syrup, butter, eggs, bourbon, and vanilla extract in a large bowl and, using an electric mixer, beat at medium speed until the mixture is blended well.

Stir in the chocolate chips and the pecans.

Pour the mixture into the pie shell.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until the center is almost set, but still somewhat jiggly.

Cool on a wire rack.

That's all you need to do to make this amazing pie. Your guests will truly think that it took you all afternoon to prepare and will be surprised by such a unique pie that, unless their from Kentucky, they will probably never have tasted. It's always fun to try and serve something new, especially something with a fair amount of chocolate in it. But, as we have learned the hard way, it's always best to try a recipe for yourself first before making it again when the guests come over. This way you will have gotten a better idea about the preparation and time involved. European chocolate is great to use, yet you can also go with any other kind of gourmet chocolate that you like. It's all up to you.
